Spring hill jack sitings more or less stopped in london, but they started being reported in other parts of great britain. In the 18 forties, he was reported in devon, chichester, northamptonshire and east anglia. He was reported again in devon in the 18 fifties. And in the 18 seventies, there were a bunch more reports. The figure known as peckham ghost, but the press identified it as springhill jack.
