The Brill Building Tradition

We read in your bio actually that when you started writing with Morrissey, you kind of modeled yourselves on labor and stolen. That kind of Brill building tradition is that true? Yeah, there was a South bank show, a labor installer, South bank show. He'd heard about this guy who wrote music and he just went and knocked on his door. So that was my inspiration. I was really into Libra and Stuller. And some of those kind of silly sort of Broadway records that they made with Phil Spector as the engineer and T boy.
