Christianity was also persecuted in the persian empire, and was seen as a threat to the state cults there. Some christians fled to the country side, or they purchased false certificates,. vouching that they had performed the required sacrifices. In various ways, many of them tried to evade this persecution. And it say kind of sealed the final separation between mainstream jews and christians.
