The Marquesas' Diet
The Marquesas are a high island group in the eastern side of the Polynesian Triangle, and they don't have reefs. The most of the protein that comes from the sea doesn't come from huge pig farms or anything. There is coral along the sides of the mountains down below, but it's just not an established lagoon environment. So they had to do a different kind of fishing.
