There are already restrictions on what kind of technology could be exported to China. Now there's a broader definition of the cutting edge, which is designed to more tightly restrict China's ability to advance. The second set of restrictions focuses on chips called GPUs, used in artificial intelligence applications and data centers. And then three, there's a set of restrictions on US persons, so citizens, green card holders and US companies, on interacting with a bunch of different firms in Chinese chip industry.
