The Autonomy Question

I try not to assume what somebody's baseline knowledge should be based on their experience or their PGY level. I don't want to presume any background knowledge for any other practitioner. The person who is actually implementing them and is like physically with patients most of the time probably has at least some insight that a person who is not there would. That could apply with an attending who is on and off the unit during the day, but certainly things like off hours at nights. And unless we're volunteering to be there, which is not a real offer, they're going to be doing what made sense then.
