There are two ways of taking carbon back out of the air again, there's what I would call nature-based solutions. And then there's mechanical ways or direct air, carbon capture and storage. The trouble is that when you look at them all, they all turn out to be pretty well fundamentally finite. So if you haven't planted those trees, cut your emissions, then you're in a worse place than where you started. You've got to deal with your emissions without being able to do any more tree planting.
