Jim Clark's Tenure at Silicon Graphics

Jim Clark founded Silicon Graphics in 1982. SGI was one of the most successful Silicon Valley startups of the 1980s. In early 1994, after years of behind-the-scenes squabbling, Clark announced that he was stepping down from his one remaining role as chairman of SGI's board of directors. After all, if Interactive TV was the next big thing, then you could do worse than having the founder of Silicon Graphics help you build the septop systems.
