The job of the Supreme Court is to decide what the Constitution said, what the law is. But more and more their judgments are being seen as highly political. Popular opinion doesn't seem to believe in them the way it used to. It has taken 232 years and 115 prior appointments for a black woman to be selected to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States.
