Cicero famously said, in one of the trials i mentioned there, that he had beaten up one of the locals, a greek local, even though he was saying, i am a roman citizen. So technically, that should not happen to you. If you say, iam a rRoman citizen and you don't have to prove it, but the reality is clearly not so clear cut, unfortunately.
