My guest today is the journalist Nellie Bowles – columnist at the Free Press, and author of the new book 'Morning After the Revolution: Dispatches from the Wrong Side of History.' We spoke about Nellie's journey from being an orthodox liberal journalist at The New York Times in 2020, to becoming an apostate who lost her faith in progressive politics after reporting on the harm done by its extremists. We spoke about homelessness, drug decriminalization, the defund the police movement, and – in the extended section – transgenderism.
