Hip Performance in the Twenty-First Century
The hip movement is a twentieth century phenomenon that attempted to go back to the way pieces like this hyden symphony and many others were originally performed in hyden's time. Tired of the gigantic and muscular orchestras of the car on era on sambles conductors, musicologists and scholars went back to source material to try to figure out the style in which these pieces were performed. Here are some basic rules for performing music written essentially before the romantic era.
