Turkey politically has suffered a lot especially older generations from coalition governments that collapsed quickly and left the country economically much more vulnerable than it is now. There's lots that we know about Turkey's foreign policy through the lens of this man and it's quite difficult to imagine what it would look like without him being there so I think that's sort of the way I've looked at that.
