Last week we kicked off our summer practice of preaching the gospel with a very basic question what is the gospel. Step one last week was to look at the gospel Jesus himself preached because as we said if we don't start with the gospel that Jesus preached we could easily end up with the Gospel that Jesus did not preach. So step two this morning is to run a comparing contrast between the gospel Jesus preached and some of the most popular summaries of the gospel in the American church. How you define salvation will determine how you define the gospel and vice versa and will determine the trajectory of your soul.
