Ruby Kagey: A Conference for the Core Committers
The conference is split between English and Japanese speakers. The language barrier is definitely a big part of it, so they have live Japanese-to-English translation for any Japanese talks. One thing I didn't know is that they like really hardcore celebrate the committers during that conference. Like they wear special shirts and like a badge, right? Yeah, there is a bit of a celebrity feel.
