How to Write a Character Who Isn't Quite Human?
It was one of the most satisfying and fun jobs that i've ever done. I remember having a very, very long conversation with damon lindeloff when it was offered. He is such a precise writer. Part of damon's precision is knowing when to be ambiguous. And that ambiguity meant that we could just play around a lot. Quite often, the holes in a script are actually the real giftsyou have to fill in on the page. It doesn't have to be entirely back story and ther motivation. That kind of the actor's home work is to bring that.
