Are There Crimes That Were Too Significant to Be Apologized For?
i wrote an essay called all apologies, wherei i tried to think through this question of, are there crimes that were too significant to be apologized for? Does something like slavery fall into that category? Something that a a wrong for which there is no apology? And, am, and i think in the end, where i've come out as a thinker is with the belief that that apologies are not insignificant. Even when they're symbolic, that there's you can make symbolic gestures that that can be restorative....
