I just hate doing studies with humans So this was like broken into me when I was like an undergrad and I was actually running cognition studies on human participants. The part that I hated most was like you know, there's somebody coming at four You're like waiting in the room 402444. They're not gonna show up And I was so angry and that's where the best the best outcome would be if you could keep little humans in a cage somewhere then we could get some real science. Let's talk about some of those studies Should we talk about a couple of them that you brought up in the talk that I saw this was a talk We'll put a link to this that
Special guest Laurie Santos (Psychology, Yale) joins us to talk about what animal cognition can tell us about human nature. Why are other primates better at resisting the misleading influence of others than humans? Is conformity a byproduct of our sophisticated cultural learning capacities? Are we more like Chimpanzees or Bonobos? Why does Dave spend so much time writing Smurf fan fiction? [Smurf you, Tamler. -dap]. Also, Dave and Tamler talk about a scathing review of Malcolm Gladwell's new book, and Eliza Sommers poses the question of the day. This was a fun one.
