Sally Kohn: I use a technique that's introduced by this brilliant book by Nancy Klein called Time to Think. In it, she talks about creating a thinking environment for the coachee. And there are some assignments that are really devoted specifically to exploring those low moments where you're really confused. She says sometimes students self-report that they were learning an enormous amount at a particular moment in the project but it felt really bad.Kohn: That kind of productive struggle is a sign of learning and we need to find ways to name it and predict it.
