Political Philosophy - Should I Get Metaphysics Down Before I Enter Political Philosophy?

i was very interested in political philosophy at a relatively young age. My atheism got exploded and my libertarianism got exploded. I think that's why you have to set your primary target as truth, right? And if you don't, i think the default position is people will just fall into confirmation bias.
