Vita was 17 weeks pregnant when she fell into a coma and died in hospital. Her husband Praveen says he asked repeatedly for her to have an abortion but they wouldn't do it. He believes that if she had, Vita would be alive today. The Irish Times first reported the story of Savita's death on November 14th.
