Soviet Esperanto
In the 19 thirties Soviet citizens who had extensive contacts with foreigners abroad, or fluency in foreign languages, came under attack. The death of esperanto in saln, soviet une is worth our attention because it captures how foreign languages fit awkwardly in the soviet internationalist imagination. And i hope this book can help us better listen to ordinary people on the heart of late imperial russian and sovietinternationalism.
