Zappos founder Tony shay asked you to prove that he'd be happier if he got married. You said marriage is more complex than a narrow understanding of reason and empirical evidence. "There are just certain things in life where that sort of narrow understanding will never get us all the way," says Zappos co-founder Tom Zoellner. The two have been together for six months, but they're still figuring out their relationship.

He is also the author of Wanting: The Power of Mimetic Desire in Everyday Life.
