Are You Going to Date That Shift?

i feel like you said philosophers used to be more public figures. And i suppose there was a period where bernard williams was on government commissions, and there were sort of philosophers who would appear in the brian mc gee t v series. I do actually detect a shift in a whole bunch of really great things that philosophers are doing these days to reachu outside of their own small world. That's just as important as an engagement with the public as sitting on some big ethical issue. It's just that philosophers, in my view, ought to be morePublic facing than they have been in the last 20 years.
