Some of these are just neutral, just misleading as not a concerted political effort by anyone. So we in the US people think that 36% of the population are age 65 or over when it's actually only 14%. That is much more just about this sense that we've got an aging society in much of the West and we're worried about it. It's harder to understand why people are so wrong objectively about things where there's no stake in the game. It's just they're just wrong.
