The Deep Water Formation Regions of the World's Oceans

All of the water that you see in 90% of the world's oceans has got there through the so-called deep water formation regions. So it really is Arctic temperatures below the tropical Pacific, just a few, you know, 50 to 100 meters down. Because once it's down there, it can't mix with the water above it because it's so cold and dense. It travels southwards on average back through all these sea mountains remembering this is massively exaggerated in the verticals.
