Is There a Single Definition of Fairness?
I'm intrigued by the idea that we can have mathematical definitions, and you've already said it won't be a single definition. And I think people would immediately respond, that makes no sense to have one single definition. The classic definitions of fairness are very, very weak, but they're very easy to explain. One of my life goals as a researcher, or research goals is to get rid of those definitions. But those definitions say, you know what, let's look at the entire population. So given that computations are doing it, we need a language for computations. And we are developing it.
