The Importance of Threat Modeling
The threat modeling piece is incredibly important to understand what you should be looking for out of your logs. I think the reason folks have trouble threat modeling sometimes is because they're focused on looking for vulnerabilities, not necessarily on potential threats. So one way that you can get over that hump is probably to think about how would you detect if that happened and could you put some sort of mechanism mechanism in place to detect that? It really just what the detection might look like for you so that you're not just focused on these overly complex ways of detecting things.
