Is Religion a Mind Parasite or a Byproduct?
Darwin's Cathedral: Most enduring religions are impressively adaptive at the group level, thank you very much. Durkheim got it right when he said a religion is a moral community organized around the sacred that organizes people into a church. You have to be more systemic than that and examine human cultural systems as something which has been through the crucible of selection among and groups. And so here, I mean, the lower reside view, now the memes I view in this case, it could have gotten there.
