The King's Curse Is Broken

Ancient India is full of so many different stories and they don't weave easily together into a single coherent narrative. The name Bharata means something like maintain or bears a burden. When we talk about India, we usually mean India in the sense of the modern nation state. But when an ancient Indian said Bharata Varsha, they meant exactly the same as what modern people say when they talk about India.
