The Importance of Kin Selection in Evolution

In the 70s, he was a big promoter of kin selection. More recently, the sort of tide has been turning. It's an incredibly powerful lens for understanding social behavior. So it was very surprising when he basically came out and rubbished 40 years of work. And that's what caused all those scientists to write those letters.
