Is Magic the Difference Between Technology and Science Fiction?

When I talk about magic, I am talking about really any of those fantastical elements of your stories. So the definition that I use and reuse and reuse until people get annoyed with it is that magic is anything enabling effects or actions beyond our current capability or understanding. And then because you like to talk about science fiction as basically just another flavor of magic, which I feel like would be a very controversial take for some fan communities.
