The tactical battles have like fast, interesting choices is that when you get melee units next to another unit, they will pin down that unit and moving away. It also ends up tying back into the strategic layer because if you can easily pin down what are usually the highest damage units with cheap melee units, then it's really good to build cheap melee units. So you're having this choice about, do I just want to take this hit? Do I want to try to get out of this with my other units? Do I Want to attack with them?
