Ethically Significant Decisions
There is no one clockable moment at which I can say I made the decision through a conscious act of will. In such decisions, there is rarely if ever that Eureka moment when one decides all at once to go forward with some course of action. It is often much more like finding oneself in a state of having resolved to take such a course. No doubt there were many millions of discreet mental and physical events whirling around in my vicinity during those months.
