Jews and Muslims in a Fractured America
Identity/Crisis
Introduction
Dana Reuben is a member of the board of directors of the shalom hartman institute. He says he and his three children have very different points of view on judaism, politics in israel. Yet i find that if we base our discussions around hartman ideas and values, we can talk together about a judaism that has meaning to them. The hardest thing about encountering other people across difference is actually engaging with them in their fullest complexity - not just by means of categories more or less convenient for the purposes of being in relationship with them.
