Kubernetes and Docker

Kubernetes runs this component on every node called the Kublit. The Kublit takes requests from the API and ultimately you have a container runtime interface that does something like a Docker run. So it's not that we've abandoned Docker in general, right? Like Cryo and ContainerD, Docker is pretty monolithic as a utility to orchestrate containers and create containers. And really you need to pull an image from a registry, unpack it, and run it ultimately using what we could call run C to actually run the container process.
