Is There a New Testament Parallel?
Paul's discussion here can be tied into the discussion that we have in 1 John about the Antichrist. There is a shared theology across at least two New Testament authors associating these two. So it seems that biblical prophecy has this sort of character to it. And attending to it in that way, I think, enables us to pick apart some of the layers here and not confine it to one layer but also speak beyond.
