The Glider That Saved the Coldets
The glider was 32 feet wide, over 19 feet long and weighed 200 forty pounds. The p o ws had gotten word that the americans were on their way to liberate them. Goldfinch died a few months later, hopefully with the satisfaction of knowing his glider could have saved his life. In 19 99, a replica was built based on those blueprints which made a successful flight at an air base in england.
