The Importance of Gamification

Gamification is the idea of using games for education or ideas like points and badges. It only really started being used about 15 years ago, but it's been around for decades. I'm probably best known for a game called Zombies Run, which is a smartphone fitness game that tries to make running more fun. The thing is, is that I have found it kind of increasingly uncomfortable over the years to be lumped in with other forms of gamification,. To me just feels pretty badly designed, if not, if not quite harmful.
