The History of Water Rights in the Lower Valley
Troy and Calvin Waters run a 600-acre farm in the Lower Valley of Colorado. Their biggest crop is seed for alfalfa hay, but Troy says they like to experiment. They sit within an irrigation district that pulls water directly from the Colorado River miles away. The canal system is old, and when it comes to water rights, you want them to be old.
