Schopenhauer: The Great Philosopher of Love

Schopenhauer was the first German philosopher to be read as literature by a public, not primarily interested in reading philosophy. His view of love was closely connected to his theory of the will, which is more Darwinian. He viewed short men like tall women and women with big noses like men with smaller noses. In the end though, it's his pessimism that sticks; he struggled against suffering and boredom.
