The Athenians and the Peloponnesian War

The Peloponnesian war ends in the years that follow owing to a couple of things first there's a daring move by Athens and one which completely backfires and is a catastrophe second there's a new alliance which made Sparta all but impossible to oppose. The millions even after having been presented with a very honest statement by the Athenians of their intentions to use force against them if they don't submit still cannot do other than assert themselves against the threat.
