Soudy arabia is trying to diversify the economy and change the role of women in society. The country has half a trillion dollars in the bank for something like 20, 25 million citizens. As they become more intellectually and socially diverse, some of the old structures and old power structures are going to get alienated. And soudy instinct is offen: We can just co up those people, keep em on the pay roll.
