Introduction

Alexa Glenser, Chief Resident and General Surgery at UCSF will discuss the Management of Ductal Carcinoma in situ or DCIS. The standard of care approach is surgical resection with adjutant endocrine therapy for patients with hormone receptor positive disease. But there are large randomized controlled trials of active surveillance as a strategy for select low risk patients. And on the opposite end of the spectrum, immunotherapy is being tested in clinical trials for select high risk patients.
