The Importance of Parsing in NLP

When I was a PhD student, the parsing was one of the largest tracks at a conference NLP conferences. Now that neural networks are so good at understanding a lot of aspects of language, I wonder if now could be really the time to revisit parsing for the first time. But in general, I think it's good to try things that are different from domain stream. So who knows?
