The Value of Tears and Grief in the Theater
I think the industry has gotten better over time in realizing that you're not another person. You're on stage and get murdered every night, even though it is a fictional story. The theater serves as a container for things that we just can't express in real life. I had a few years ago, a student that I was close to died by suicide heart-breakingly. It's more than just people will feel better after they've cried.
