Is the VIX Going Under 30?
Peter West: Why has the VIX decoupled from its inverse relation to S&P these last couple of days? We just commented about the fact that the VIX seems to have gone under 30. He says he wouldn't necessarily say that look at, I wouldn't look at the VIX right now being sub 30. But if it's inverted or not, I suspect that you have your front month futures contract that is trading slightly lower than its next. It might be just a function of that, but I can tell you.
