"Red heat gives us that we can run anywhere. But the beauty of it, you sum that up, you can modernize," he says. "It's not about moving bits and bites to get where you need to get ... It's about leaving them where they reside." If a company is writing their own platform or distributing its own open source, there may be some 'lockin' going on with vendors who use red hat technology.
