The leader must be a man who can keep his head in emergencies. He must be able to control fear in his men. The wild pointless, inefficient, and often foolhardy action that may take hold of panicky men. Some men find they have this self-possession when they meet in emergencies. There are doubtless many who cannot learn it and they should be chosen not be chosen to lead.
