Heracles decided to look at every task set before him as a way to make up for the horrible things he had done in Thebes. When he finally found his way to Nimea, he was given shelter by a poor workman who told him stories of arrows and swords bouncing off the hide of the beast. Heracles talked him out of it, asking the man to wait 30 days. If I succeed, he said, we will dedicate the lion together and zoos his name. If I do not, I will be dead and you can dedicate me as a hero. His quest ended when he encountered the biggest cat he'd ever seen with blood-stained teeth and vicious-looking
